VISION To help those who were most disadvantaged by the January 2010 earthquake to rebuild Haiti into a viable, self-sustaining nation. MISSION To work with the largest micro-finance institution in Haiti, Fonkoze, in the communications department and with the Zafen project in various capacities to aid the bank’s work of empowering impoverished Haitians. On July 22, 2011 we moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to begin a new chapter in our life. Ever since we got married on July 10, 2010 we began praying that the Lord would show us the direction He wanted us to take. We have felt a calling to Haiti for two major reasons. One: Vanessa was raised in Haiti for 14 years and is fluent in the main languages of Kryole and French. And two: on January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated much of the island nation leaving thousands homeless. We are working with Fonkoze and its subsidiary Zafen which is a micro-finance bank that loans to individuals and small businesses so they can leave poverty behind. That is the hope. That is the prayer. To eradicate poverty one loan, and one business at a time. Please pray for us, and for Haiti. |
